Fishing for Life, an organization that serves youth, families, veterans and communities through fishing and outdoor programs, recently asked John Zajac, Quality Assurance Supervisor at Federal, to form a group to participate in the Holes for Heros event.

The event gives Wounded Warriors, Peoples Patriot Project, and MN Adult Teen Challenge participants a chance to experience Ice Fishing with the help of volunteers who are experienced at fishing.

John coordinated with Erik Carlson, Sr. Director of Operations at Federal, who agreed to donate Federal hats and sweatshirts to all participants at the Forest Lake event. All who received the generous donation wore the Federal colors proudly!

“Helping others experience and learn the great sport of fishing makes me feel like I’ve done something meaningful,” John said. “It was great to see all the first-time ice fishers have a great time!”

The group had their event on Forest Lake on Feb. 12 and placed first out of 12 teams!
