The parking lot of Roger’s Dodge car dealership in Lewiston, Idaho served as the outdoor cooking kitchen for the first-ever Roger’s Dodge Dutch Oven Cook-Off. CCI/Speer employees in Lewiston, Idaho partnered with Camp Chef employees in Logan, Utah to provide the necessary cooking equipment, including what else, dutch ovens! Contestants were home cooks, first responders and employees from local businesses. Contestants could not be professional chefs, food handlers or culinary professionals.
Teams worked hard to create an appetizer, main course and dessert in four hours. Teams were judged for taste, presentation and cleanliness of their work area. Bill Mackleit, Director of Lewiston Operations, served as one of the judges and shared his thoughts on the event, “It was extremely satisfying to have the community come out and cook up great food using only dutch ovens. I didn’t expect being a judge would be as hard as it was. But I sure had fun sampling!”
