Things got a little messy for this year’s United Way campaign. Just ask CCI/Speer employees in Lewiston, Idaho and Bushnell employees in Overland Park, Kansas.
The annual United Way food auction has been a long-standing tradition for employees in Lewiston. This year, over 275 items were donated, raising nearly $16,000 for the Twin County United Way. A pie donation bidding war ended with the winning bid getting to toss a pie in the face of their supervisor.
In Overland Park, fundraising efforts took it outside to raise over $18,000 for their local chapter of the United Way. A little rain didn’t stop the golf tournament, inventory clearance sale and silent auction.
If that wasn’t enough, the day ended with little pie … pie in the face, that is. But it was all for a great cause.
Congratulations to the CCI/Speer and Bushnell teams!
