Bell + Safe Kids = 7,441 Helmets Properly Fitted

Safe Kids National Bike to School Day campaign reaches over 71K people

For 25 years, Bell has led the way in safety by partnering with Safe Kids on awareness, education and advocacy programs to promote the use of bike helmets for children, which can reduce the risk of severe brain injuries by 88 percent.

This year, Bell, in conjunction with Safe Kids conducted an education and awareness campaign for bike safety. The campaign centered around National Bike to School Day and the reach was staggering! There were 32 states represented in the awareness campaign, 247 Bike to School Day events hosted, over 71K individuals reached and educated, and 7,441 helmets were properly fitted on children.

Bell’s dedication is making a real impact. In 1991, only 15 percent of kids wore helmets all the time. Over 25 years later, that number has jumped to 48 percent. That’s progress but not perfection, and Bell will accept nothing less when it comes to protecting our children from preventable injuries.
