A Breath of Fresh Prairie Air and Hunter Orange

On a crisp fall weekend in September, 24 youth and their parents joined experienced hunters for the Youth Pheasant Hunt at Prairie Sky Lodge near Veblen, South Dakota. The annual event was hosted by The Outdoor Adventure Foundation.

Stephen Hobson, national account sales manager for ammunition and firearms, attended the event with the young hunters. “This was my first time participating in this event, but it won’t be my last. It was very, very cool. These young hunters, battling cancer or living with life-threatening illnesses, were amazing to be around. Their enthusiasm and spirit was infectious. I’ve hunted pheasant for years, but walking the fields with these young hunters is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.”

Federal donated the shot shells and caps, Champion Targets provided clays and Savage donated rifles for upcoming youth elk and moose hunts.

The Outdoor Adventure Foundation provides hunting, fishing and other outdoor adventures to youth under the age of 25 that have been diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
