Manhattan Sees the Light with Energy Efficiency Project

The BLACKHAWK! maintenance team of Chris Rivenbark, Russ Price and Bob Kolp along with Brian Flack recently completed one of four planned energy efficiency projects. The Phase 1 Lighting Upgrade replaced 247 high bay T5 fixtures with state-of-the-art LED fixtures. Outcome: Power used on the production floor and tool room as reduced from 446,700 kWh per year to roughly 135,600 kWh per year, a 70% reduction! This upgrade will pay for itself in less than 12 months and the Manhattan, Montana facility received a rebate check for $19,660 from the power provider. The improvement in lighting quality is hard to describe in words, but the team can really … SEE … the difference.
