“Dig Day Party” Benefits the Community

On a sunny day in February, Giro employees, along with their family and friends gathered at the Emma McCrary Trail in Santa Cruz, California for a Dig Day Party. Volunteers worked beside members of the Mountain Biking of Santa Cruz (MBOSC) organization to assist with improving drainage and maintenance of the trail.

Why Giro “adopted” this trail with help from MBOSC

The Emma McCrary single track trail connects Highway 9 and the Pogonip area to the U-Con Trail that leads to upper campus trails of University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). It’s an essential link for hikers, joggers and mountain bikers. Named after Emma McCrary, a member of the Big Creek logging family, she was known for shaping paths through Henry Cowell, Fall Creek, Wilder Ranch and Pogonip parks with a philosophy that the deeper people got into the woods, the more they would care for them.
