This spring, Bushnell gave active-duty veterans and members of the Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Corporate Fellowship Program a tour of the Overland Park, Kansas facility. The tour included a discussion with employees Darnetha Henry and Zachary Lankford who shared their transition from the military to the private sector. Service members were able to ask questions about their resumes, interview techniques and receive pointers on how to be successful once employed. Chad Gannon provided insight from a recruiting perspective. Thale Barber shared what a hiring manager looks for in a candidate applying for a job and as well as expectations for a new hire. The discussion was followed by a tour of the Distribution Center.
The HOH Corporate Fellowship Program provides service members and military spouses with on-the-job training and real experience working in the private sector to help them transition to the civilian workforce.
“This was the first time Bushnell partnered with HOH. The tour gave us the opportunity to show members of the Corporate Fellowship Program what our employees and facility provide to the community. It also gave us a better understanding of HOH’s priorities in our community,” explained Darnetha Henry, Sr. Manager Human Resources for Vista Outdoor.
