Year Two of Bell Joy Ride Ambassador Program Gets Off to “Joyful” Start

In its second year, the Bell Joy Ride Ambassador program provides female mountain bikers with opportunities to join group rides that appeal to all levels of riders.  Joy Ride ambassadors, in 12 different areas around the United States and Canada, build communities of female mountain bikers. Each ambassador leads monthly all-women rides for one year. It’s all about the experience rather than who comes in first.

The idea for the Joy Ride Program got its start a few years back when Jessica Klodnicki, then Bell Helmet’s executive vice president and general manager (today Jessica is Vista Outdoor’s VP of Outdoor Recreation), signed up for a group mountain bike ride and no one else showed up. Fast forward to 2016 when more than 2,400 women joined Bell at more than 50 Joy Ride events across North America.

Blackburn, CamelBak and Giro joined Bell in supporting this year’s kickoff weekend, providing helmets, equipment and apparel. Bell also provides each ambassador with a “tool kit” to help them build their local community of riders and events.  Find out more about Joy Ride     MTBR.com (Mountain Bike Review) story
