It took Xavier Thévenard 21 hours and 9 minutes to complete the Ultra Trail de Mont Blanc (UTMD). The 106-mile race across the Alps takes runners through three countries and over 10 mountain summits. This is the second UTMB race victory for Thévenard who completed a record-setting Triple Crown (UTMB/TDS/OCC) win of the top UTMB series races in 2014.
Unlike other ultramarathons, the UTMB is partially self-supported, meaning runners are responsible for carrying enough gear to keep themselves warm, dry and well fueled. Xavier carried the CamelBak Marathoner Vest for carrying gear and hydration.
