Vista Outdoor Brands Sponsor Shooting Industry Masters

Vista Outdoor brands BLACKHAWK! and Federal Premium were platinum-level sponsors at the recent 2015 Shooting Industry Masters, an annual shooting event that brings several facets of the industry together for relaxed and friendly competition. The event was hosted by the Claythorne Lodge in Columbus, Kan., July 24-25.

“The Shooting Industry Masters has become one of the most talked about events of the year in our industry,” said Randy Molde, Match Chairman. “We are grateful for the continued support and involvement from virtually every segment of the industry. It’s an honor to produce an industry-backed effort that helps fund the future of shooting sports.”

Now in its 13th year, the Shooting Industry Masters helps raise funds for the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s First Shots program, a program that introduces new shooters to safe, responsible firearm use. In recent years, more than $280,000 has been raised for First Shots through a series of auctions and raffles.
“It was our goal to raise $100,000 for the First Shots program this year,” said Molde. “This was quite a goal beyond previous years, but we’re part of an industry that understands the importance of safety and responsible gun ownership. We believe that helping to grow the next generation of shooters is a foundational part of our mission and responsibility.”

Team BLACKHAWK! took first place in the four-man Relay Rimfire Challenge and third place in Sporting Clays in the top-tier Pro/Open division. Vista Outdoor employees Casey Reed, Ammunition New Product Development Engineer, and Randy Forstie, Firearms Manager, received top honors in several of the event’s side matches.
