Vista Outdoor Brand Federal Premium Helps Welcome Home the Troops

"Welcome Home the Troops"

Wild Wings of Oneka and the Yellow Ribbon Network help sponsor the 15th  Annual “Welcome Home the Troops” pheasant hunt. Vista Outdoor brand, Federal Premium, donated the ammunition that was used in the hunt while other local businesses sponsor the fields which pay for the pheasants, clays, and wild game lunch.

Typically there are over 100 servicemen and women that enjoy the guided pheasant hunt, a round of sporting clays, a commemorative hat, and a wild game dinner. The Yellow Ribbon Network (Hugo and Stillwater, Minnesota) contact local Generals, and the Generals send out invitations to service men and women who have recently returned from overseas deployment. Sometimes this event is the first time they can get together with their fellow military since returning home.

One veteran in attendance commented, “Sitting around the lunch table with all those veteran brothers was such a treat! The stories brought back so many memories, what a hoot!  I want to thank you and your group for allowing me to join my fellow veterans in a day of shooting that I will never forget. And the food! Are you kidding me?! The food was out of this world! Thank you and God bless you!

“My Father and Father-in-law are both military, and I liked the idea of honoring those who have served our country. It makes me proud that Vista Outdoor and Federal Premium can donate back to the community and show our fellow serviceman our appreciation for their service. My daughter and I wear our Federal clothing proudly at this event,” said Sue Asmus, Federal Premium employee.
